1. So, I’m a month into the semester and loving it. I have students from Indonesia, China, Puerto Rico, rural Alaska, and the Dominican Republic. They are my teachers as much or more as I am theirs.
2. I won’t be running the Equinox Marathon next weekend because of a slow-to-heal calf injury, but I did run three marathons in the past twelve months so I’m not too disappointed. Still, on race day I’m sure I’ll be missing it. It’s my all time favorite race and I’ve run it eight times.
3. Fall is in full swing up here. The birches and aspens are a blaze of yellow, and strings of Sandhill Cranes are heading south interspersed with V’s of Canada Geese. And with the increased security on the borders I’m not sure what will happen. I mean, the geese will have no problem getting into Canada, but when they try to cross back into the states…could be trouble.

"I've never needed a passport before on this flyway."
The garden is halfway harvested but there are still lots of potatoes to dig and carrots to pull.
And the cherry tomatoes in the greenhouse—we just eat them right off the vine.
And my writing….I’m hoping to dig into my WIP soon.
That’s what’s going on with me. What’s happening in your life, friends?
Hi Paul!
First off….lovely photo of earth. Here in the thumb of Michigan the trees are just starting to turn. Geese are flying overhead….at least the ones who could clear the border.:) That was pretty funny, sad but funny and probably almost true. There are those who want to shoot at anything that flies. We’re busy with harvesting the garden vegetables and that reminds me….time to pick the butternut and delicata squash to cure them in the sun. And good luck with the school year. What an interesting mix of students you have. Nice post Mr. Greci.
I’d love to grow butternut squash! Yum!
Love these pictures, Paul. Sorry about the calf injury. The veggies look wonderful. We harvested all of ours. The grapes are in though. They’re so good this year.
Writing and homeschooling for me. I’m teaching journalism and a novel class too.
Be safe, my friend! 🙂
Grapes! Yum! And fun classes to teach as well!
Ooh, yummy.
We saw a flock? Gaggle? of canadian geese at our lake the other day. They look like ninjas and after seeing some attack each other in the past- they kinda scare me.
I’m starting a new wip, which is always fun. Have a great fall, we’re heading there.
Good luck on that new WIP! That’s exciting!
Love that Goose shot!!
Glad all is going well, Paul!
Big Hugs!!

I love the goose and I’d love to grow vegetables from my garden.
I’m glad you’re getting a lot out of your new job.
Have a great week.
Enjoyed the pictures! Sorry to hear you have to skip the race. What’s happening around here? Garden is winding down. Still have tomatoes and peppers, and two small watermelons (not sure they’ll mature before frost). Started a new round of online writing classes with a handful of students, and am happily enjoying cooler weather!
I just spent a weekend on Mackinac Island.
I have yet to make it to Mackinac Island! Some day I will! 🙂
Hello!
Last year my carrots didn’t do well and I’v never tried potatoes. But I love the cherry tomatoes. Do you ever can things? So far this season I have canned dilly beans and now wasabi beans and I tried pickling watermelon rind for the first time. Tomatoes didn’t go far enough to get much canning out of them. Peppers are next. Hope your greenhouse keeps the tomatoes coming for awhile!
Sounds like it’ll be a great semester. LOVE the goose and thank you for reminding me about the cherry tomatoes in my fridge from the farmers’ market – got a handful and I’m blissing out.
Thanks for harvesting all those great carrots and potatoes, Paul.
It was nice to read you update! You always sound so fulfilled, Paul:) Love your veggies! My tomatoes failed:(
We made it to Tx and I am learning about my new city here. Attended first ACFW meeting today and met a few writers!
I’m glad you have so much great stuff going on, though I am sorry to hear about your calf and the marathon. Three marathons in twelve months?! Yowza. I’ve never even run one. Or a half-marathon. Or a quarter.
Moving on…cool about your class, and I like the photo of the Canada Goose. The veggies look really good too!
