Lovely photos. Paul. We FINALLY had rain night before last. The growing veggies, pasture, yard, flowers, trees, creek, and everything needed this rain. Water sustains life. Without it there can be NO life. And the rainbow is the added beauty. 🙂
Beautiful skies, Paul! It rained here today and I wished for sunshine while my husband drove visitors from Taiwan around Vancouver to see the sights. But they didn’t mind at all, and commented on how fresh the air smelled; they’d just had a week of heat and high humidity at home. Now that I think about it, I appreciate how green and clean the woods around our home look in the rain, too.
I never understand why rain puts people in a funk. I love rain. I love to walk in it. I love to splash puddles (my mom’s not around to tell me not to anymore.) I love what happens after the rain: wildflowers, sweet air, diamonds on leaves. What’s not to love about that beautiful wet stuff?
My debut novel, Surviving Bear Island, a Junior Library Guild Selection, came out in March 2015 from Move Books. When I'm not writing I spend lots of time exploring the roadless areas of Alaska on foot and by kayak. I also teach English. I am represented by Amy Tipton of Signature Literary Agency.
