The sky explodes as the sun rises.
At the same time on the opposite horizon the moon is about to set.
Life happens between ever-changing horizons.
And beyond.

Wow. These are beautiful photos! Thank you so much for sharing them.
And your words are so true: both literally, and metaphorically.
Such beauty!
Positively stunning, Paul. Life happens. That’s for sure.
Oooooo, those are gorgeous. I love sunrise, moon rise, sunset–those moments of brilliance as we shift light to dark and back again.
Poetic.
Gorgeous photos!! We get that here at different time of the year. With two horizons at the same time, it’s almost like the world is a little smaller for that moment. Like there’s a way for us to reach out and touch both horizons.
I just love that feeling.
I’d love to see that on Lake Michigan!!
This sent a shiver through me–so beautiful. Thank you for the pictures, and the corresponding thought.
Beautiful photos, glad that Friday came a bit early this week!
You know, until about 3 p.m. today I thought it was Friday. Ooops!
Gorgeous! Moving a year ago to the Pacific Northwest, I keep saying that everything here is like New England (where I’m from) on steroids. Back east we have mountains, islands, rolling fields… but in Washington, everything is huge.
This is what a friend here said. That Alaska is Washington on steroids. Wow.
I love sunrise and sunset. They are not only beautiful but a special time of day to pause and think.
Love this. Life happens in the between.
That sky is beautiful. Glad you are enjoying your time there:)
Beautiful post. Wild.
Have a great weekend, Paul!
wonderful shots.
thoughtful ideas.
thank you.
Those pictures are stunning. And I have two reactions:
1. I’m impressed/amazed/awed that you were awake and outdoors at sunrise.
2. The world is stunning and beautiful from the warm, dry climes of the south to the great, white, fierceness of the north.
What a journey you’re on!
Thank you for the “haaa” moment and the beautiful images that capture the essence of what is of greatest value.
This is like a metaphor for life. Beautiful!
That’s beautiful. On occasion I catch the sun and full moon out at the same time.
Wonderful photos, Paul, and beautifully expressed thoughts to accompany them. 🙂
Absolutely spectacular!
Oh my goodness, what a beautiful place to be in January! It looks as if you’re having the time of your life :)…
