Semester break in the Red Rock Country.
It was mostly T-shirt weather.
Back home and it’s supposed to be fifty below this weekend.
I hope your new year is off to a good start. I’m teaching American Lit. and Newcomer English, taking a class, shoveling tons of snow, and am hoping to start writing a new book soon.
What are you up to?

Been wondering if you are in all the snow!!
Yes, we have a lot of snow. And now it’s getting cold again. Winter.
Great photos! Shoveling a bit of snow here in north central KY, but nothing compared to you. Working on writing projects too. There’s a never ending supply of those. Not a bad thing.
Thanks, Karen. Good luck with the writing projects!!
Wonderful photos, Paul! Such gorgeous colour and in stark contrast to the white landscape you’re likely now experiencing. Not much snow in southern BC but flurries are expected over the next five days, and the temperature is hovering below freezing, so our ‘banana belt’ version of winter is coming. I’ve edited a children’s book for an elderly aunt over the past few months and am now helping her with queries and submissions. I need to refocus on one of my own w.i.p. now. I love the resurfacing of that antsy feeling.
Hope you’re soon immersed in your new writing project, too.
Love the Southwest pictures! As for snow send some to NY, mother nature is holding out. I’m not used to mild winters. (Hugs) Indigo
Gorgeous! I went to Zion for the first time last year and I was mesmerized by the red cliffs etc.
New book! Yay! But I feel bad you’re returning to such cold temps. Brr… Have a great weekend!
Looks lovely. Your a stronger person than I am. I wouldn’t have been able to go back to 50 below weather. I just heard about someone who is going on a winter camping trip up in your neck of the words. Forget about being stronger than me, she’s completely crazy. Good luck with the new classes and the new book. I’m still working on some “old” books, but hopefully I’ll be able to dive into something new before too long.
My internal editor is pitching a fit. That should read “You’re a stronger person”
Very much like the term “Newcomer English”. And… after two years in the mossy Pacific Northwest, I get an odd feeling of bewilderment seeing photos of vast, red, rocky dryness.
Great pictures, Paul. I hope you have a great year of teaching and writing.
I’m hoping to start a new book soon, too. Wonderful pictures. Sorry you’re back in the snow. We haven’t had much of that this year.
